John berencana untuk membeli pena-pena itu.
• Those come from Mataram.
Itu berasal dari Mataram.

Catatan:
Berdasarkan pembahasan tentang this, that, these, dan those tersebut di
atas, ada beberapa hal yang perlu diperhatikan:
a. This berarti ini, bentuk jamaknya these. Sedangkan that berarti itu,
bentuk jamaknya those.
b. Kata benda sesudah this ataupun that harus berbentuk tunggal
(singular). Sedangkan kata benda sesudah these ataupun those harus
dalam bentuk jamak (plural), misalnya:
this book (buku ini)
that car (mobil itu)
these books (buku-buku ini)
those cars (mobil-mobil itu)
c. This, that, these, dan those harus disesuaikan dengan to be, misalnya:
This is . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . These are . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
That is . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Those are . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Beberapa contoh penggunaannya dalam kalimat:
• This is my book. These are my books.
Ini buku saya Ini buku saya.
• That is my pen. Those are my pens.
Itu pena saya. Itu pena saya
• This book is new. These books are new.
Buku ini baru. Buku-buku ini baru.
• That book is new. Those books are new.
Buku itu baru. Buku-buku itu baru.
• What are these ? They are pencils.
Apakah ini? Ini (mereka) pensil.
• What are those ? They are umbrellas.
Apakah itu? Itu (mereka) payung.
