Pemakaian Not + Any
Perlu dicermati dua kalimat di bawah ini:
Rumus:

(-) Negative Verb + Any = (+) Positive Verb + No

(-) They have not got any money = (+) There have got no money.
(bukan: They have not got no money = SALAH)
(-) There is not any sugar in your tea = (+) There is no sugar in your tea.

Beberapa contoh yang lain di bawah ini:
• There is not any ink in the bottle. (= There is no ink in the bottle)
Tidak ada tinta di botol itu.
• There are not any books in the bag. (= There are no books in the
bag).
Tidak ada buku di dalam tas.
• We have not got any money. ( = We have got no money).
Kami tidak mempunyai uang.
• Roy and Ela have not got any children. (= Roy and Ela have got
no children).
Roy dan Ela belum punya anak (satupun)

Catatan 2:
Ada hal penting yang perlu diperhatikan mengenai Some dan Any:
Some digunakan dalam kalimat positif atau kalimat berita.
Any digunakan dalam kalimat negatif atau kalimat menyangkal.
