b. Past Tense

1) Simple Past Tense
Pola kalimat interogatif pada bentuk simple past tense adalah
sebagai berikut:

Kalimat Verbal : (Did+S+Verb I+o/c)
Kalimat Nominal : (Were/Was+S+Non Verb+o/c)

Beberapa contoh di bawah ini:
• Did you wash the clothes last week?
Apakah kamu mencuci baju itu minggu yang lalu?
• Did you finish the job two hours ago?
Apakah kamu menyelesaikan pekerjaan itu dua jam yang lalu?
• Were they in the house last night?
Apakah mereka berada di rumah tadi malam?
• Was she here last morning?
Apakah dia berada di sini tadi pagi?

2) Past Progressive Tense
Pola kalimat interogatif pada bentuk past progressive tense adalah
sebagai berikut:

(Were /Was++S+Verb l+lng+o/c)

Perhatikan beberapa contoh di bawah ini:
• Were they resting?
Apakah mereka sedang beristirahat?
• Was he working last night?
Apakah dia sedang bekerja tadi malam?
• Were they living in the city when the war started?
Apakah mereka sedang tinggal di kota itu ketika perang mulai?
• Was she was doing housework while the children were watching
television?
Apakah dia sedang melakukan pekerjaan rumah tangga
sementara anak-anak sedang menonton TV?

3) Past Perfect Tense
Pola kalimat interogatif pada bentuk past perfect tense adalah
sebagai berikut:

Kalimat Verbal : (Had+S+Verb III+o/c)
Kalimat Nominal : (Had+S+Been+Non Verb+o/c)
